RateThatJob Index
Happy people are the best job ad.
The RateThatJob Index is your workplace score, built from what the people who work for you say. When a candidate sees a high Index, they know they'll be treated well – and can come to work with peace of mind.

Trust you can't buy – only earn.
Every job ad promises a great team and fair pay. The Index shows whether it's true: it comes from reviews by people who work or worked there, and from facts like whether pay arrives on time.
That's why a high Index works harder than any slogan. It tells candidates that people here are paid, respected and listened to – and the only way to earn it is to be a good place to work.
What it is
The Index is the overall score of a workplace on RateThatJob, from 1 to 5. Every location has its own. You can show it anywhere, and it always links back to your public profile, where candidates can read the reviews behind it.
How it's built
The last 12 months
Only reviews published in the last 12 months count, so the score shows what it's like to work there now – not years ago.
Four categories
Next to the overall score, reviewers rate management, pay, schedule and work environment from 1 to 5.
Hard facts
Yes/no answers turned into percentages: paid on time, paid as promised, overtime paid, the promised hours – and whether the employer replies to applicants.
Verified reviews weigh more
Reviews verified by a document, an employer invite or an application on RateThatJob count fully; unverified ones count half.
Shown from 5 reviews
The score appears once a location has 5 published reviews. Until then the badge invites people to rate you.
Put it anywhere
Your Index updates on its own. Every version links back to your public profile.
Image badge
A simple image with a link. Works on careers pages, in website builders and anywhere images and links are allowed.
Live widget
One script for a live card on your site, light or dark, in English or Hungarian.
JSON API
Your score, counts and facts as open JSON, for developers who want their own design.
What moves it – and how to raise it
The only way up is to be a better place to work, and to show it:
- Reply to reviews openly, in any language.
- Reply to every applicant. Every decision or message counts as a reply in your ghosting meter.
- Invite your team to rate you with your invite link. Invited reviews count as verified.
- Pay on time and as promised, overtime included.
- Give people the hours you promised.
- Act on what reviews say about managers, schedules and the environment.
What doesn't work
Employers can't delete reviews, and a better score can't be bought. You can dispute a review that isn't verified; our moderators decide.
See trouble early
With Pro, your dashboard warns you when the overall score, management, pay, schedule or environment drops by 0.5 or more in the last 60 days compared with before (with at least 5 reviews in both periods). So you notice a souring mood before it pulls your Index down.
Top Rated Employer seal
A location earns the seal with an Index of 4.0 or higher and at least 10 verified reviews in the last 12 months. The seal shows the current year and disappears if the location no longer qualifies.
4.8+
Above 4.8: a very small club
An Index above 4.8 means that over a whole year nearly everyone who worked there gave top marks. Very few workplaces get there. If yours does, it's the strongest recruiting message you can have.
